Ella meets her great Grandma.

Greatgrandma got out of the hospital this weekend so Ella finally got to meet her! She even showed off and rolled over for her for only the second time. This is a new thing we just learned on Sunday! We were very proud.
No matter how hard we try, we can't get her to smile for the camera. She does laugh and smile a lot though. :)

4 months old and already talking!

Ella turned 4 months old last week. We had another cake, she seems more interested in food now. I'm sure she'll attempt to try some soon. Matt swears she was talking to him the other day and said "I earned a dollar" in baby speak. :)

She is such a big girl now! Had her 4 month checkup. She weighs 15 pounds, 10 oz. Still in the 90th percentile for weight and head size and 95th for height.

First Christmas

Ella and family went to Amarillo for her first Christmas. We had a great time visiting everyone and of course eating! Alas, Ella slept through all of Christmas morning, but I told her about it. :) Ella has become so social and alert. She is such a good baby and doesn't mind being passed around. We are so lucky to have so many supportive family and friends. Thanks to everyone for making it such a special Christmas for Ella. It's hard to believe that last year we didn't even have Ella and now she is everything to us.

Bonus: It actually snowed in Amarillo! For just a few hours on Saturday morning there was snow coming down in big flakes. We snapped a few pics and then it stopped, the sun came out, and it all melted away. Ella was excited to see her first snow, although she was a little annoyed by the snowflakes hitting her nose.

Ella meets Santa

Ella met Santa this weekend. She was so good, just sat there looking at us and this strange man "Santa". We visited the Grapevine North Pole Express, it was cute and festive!

Turducken anyone?

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a great holiday and the food was delicious, thanks to all the grandparents who came to visit and helped make all the food. It was our first time hosting Thanksgiving and I was a little worried about burning down the kitchen. Look at me...cooking on 3 burners at once...that's a first! Food turned out great though, including a "turducken", which was a new experience for us all, but it turned out fantastic! Ella had a great time and was the center of attention all day.

You win some...

Well, guess you can't win 'em all. Ella was all dressed up to cheer for Tech, too bad there wasn't much to cheer for. This was our best attempt to have her "get her guns up", she was not interested...
Some loyal Alumni friends stopped by to watch it with us, we had a good time...despite the loss.

Traveling light

Ella has been on the move! We have been getting out a lot and she loves it. We love to go out to eat and visit friends. She seems to be soaking up her surroundings and interacting more with us.
Had our 2 months check up last week. Ella is doing really great.

She weighs 12 pounds, 3 ounces already. The doc said she looks really healthy and is developing right on target. She is in the 85th percentile for weight and the 90th percentile for head size Wonder where she gets that...thanks Dad :). I can't believe she's gained so much weight so quickly. She's already outgrown so many of her newborn clothes.

Ella has really developed a sweet personality. Calm and even tempered like her Daddy. She rarely fusses or gets upset. Most of the time she is laid back and happy. She has just started to sleep through most of the night, around 6-7 hours at a time. We are so lucky to get some rest now!

"Thanks for the lamb hat Nana, I love it"
